Fletcher Building wins Best Annual Report by a Large Corporate

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand announced the winners of the 2006 Annual Reports Awards at a gala dinner last Thursday evening. The winner of the Best Annual Report by a Large Corporate was Fletcher Building.

Celebrating excellence in reporting, the awards promote:
  • Better communication to stakeholders
  • Effective communication of financial and business information
  • Compliance with legislative requirements and generally accepted accounting practice
  • Public awareness of valid and objective measures of performance, and better understanding of the results achieved
  • Public awareness of the purposes of enterprises, how they function, and their achievements

The second biggest company by market capitalisation on the NZX, Fletchers is one of New Zealand’s best performing companies. Despite the softening on the economy, the company is confident that its prospects for the next few years are good and that there will be also opportunities for further acquisitions.

Fletchers last four annual reports have been designed and produced by Maxim Group. This involves developing the strategic theme that the document needs to communicate, which this year focused on sustained earnings growth.

In addition, Maxim designed and typeset the report, undertook most of the photography and managed its printing. Production of Fletcher's 2006 report has just commenced.
